Established in the late 1980s, the biannual Electroceramics conference series represents one of the central international platforms for academic and industrial researchers to discuss the recent developments and emerging trends in the field of electroceramic materials and applications.
This 17th edition will be organized by the Technische Universität Darmstadt in collaboration with the European Ceramic Society. The conference will cover the recent advancements in piezoelectrics, ferroelectrics, thermoelectrics, multiferroics, varistors, materials for energy storage and conversion, communication, and related applications. The research topics include ceramic processing, thin films, nanostructures, material´s theory, and characterization methods.
Plenary speakers at the conference will be Heli Jantunen (Oulu University), James LeBeau (MIT), Philippe Ghosez (University of Liège) and Olivier Guillon (Research Center Jülich).
A Summer School for PhD students with international tutors will be organized prior to the conference on 21-22 August 2020.
Darmstadt is a city of science with renowned research institutions, such as the Heavy ion research center GSI, several Fraunhofer Institutes and the European Space Operation Center ESOC. Darmstadt is located 20 km south of Frankfurt airport and can be easily reached by public transportation.
